For the enjoyment of other players, spectators and officials, GLSC has a player Code of Conduct. Players should be familiar with the Code of Conduct. Breaches of the code of conduct can result in the player being suspended from the game, and for more serious breaches, players may be suspended for a number of games, or in the most serious case, the player could be suspended for the remainder of the season.
Our club participates in a number of competitions. The Saturday Morning Competition run by North Canberra Softball Association at Kaleen Oval provides a number of graded softball games providing a development path for players. Starting this season, we are endeavouring to enter Men's and Women's teams in Softball ACT competitions which typically are run on Saturday afternoon or on weeknights at Hawker International Softball Centre.
A number of divisions exist which play modified games to introduce softball to younger players:
The competition is graded by player age (and in some cases competence or experience), and players are drawn from school aged children (including college).
The Saturday Afternoon Fastpitch League runs Junior (Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 divisions) and Women's Softball competitions at Hawker International Softball Complex. The Saturday Afternoon Junior competition is the elite competition for Juniors, Gungahlin Angels enter teams in the Saturday Afternoon League. The Men's League runs a graded Men's competition. Games are played weeknights, with 'A'-grade games on Tuesday nights (well worth a look).
